Applications Open This Winter
A $1000 book scholarship in Oye’s name.
The Oye E. Imoisili Foundation is accepting applications from eligible women from Black, first-generation, and/or immigrant families who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine, healthcare, or public health.
Our hope is that every student who receives an Oye E. Imoisili Memorial Scholarship will carry forward the values that inspired it:

About the Foundation
Opening doors for future health leaders.
The Oye E. Imoisili Foundation was established in loving memory of Oye Imoisili, MD, MPH, whose life was defined by intellectual curiosity, compassion, dedication, and a commitment to helping others. It honors Oye’s legacy by opening doors for women from black, immigrant, and/or first-generation backgrounds interested in medicine, healthcare, and public health.
The Oye E. Imoisili Memorial Scholarship reflects her belief in education, service, and the possibilities created when students are supported along their path.
This scholarship is more than financial assistance. It is an opportunity to carry Oye's legacy forward by encouraging young people to pursue knowledge, strive for excellence, serve others, and use their gifts to make world a better place.

Be currently enrolled in or accepted to a college or university.

Submit the complete application by March 1st, 2027.

Prepare your materials. Submit by March 1, 2027.
Applications open December 1, 2026 and are due March 1, 2027.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a graduating high-school senior from a school in Howard County, MD at the time of application.
- Plan to enroll in an accredited four-year college or university.
- Demonstrate academic commitment and promise.
- Demonstrate good character, integrity, compassion, and a commitment to helping others.
- Submit a completed application by March 1st, 2027.
Required application materials
- Full name, email, and contact information.
- Current school, year of study, and intended major or area of study.
- Most recent report card, unofficial transcript, or other documentation verifying their current GPA.
- Responses to both essay questions below.
Essay 1 — Your Path (250–400 words)
Tell us about the experiences that have shaped your interest in medicine, healthcare, or public health, and what pursuing this path would mean to you.
Essay 2 — Your Impact (250–400 words)
Describe an experience in which you helped another person, strengthened your community, or made a positive difference in someone's life. What motivated you, what did you do, and what did you learn from the experience?
